Chinese Hemp
The Chinese have a long history of creating fabric, and a high level of technical expertise that cannot be found elsewhere. We have selected our Chinese fabrics for their softness, wide variety of woven and knitted stretchy fabrics that ranging in density from fine fabric to heavy canvas. The majority of the Chinese hemp fabrics are blended with certified organic cotton. The 100% hemp fabrics are currently all canvas based, though in 2008 we will be stocking 100% Hemp Jersey.All our Chinese fabrics have been semi bleached, which results in a light creamy fabric which creates a great blank canvas for you to create on especially if you are looking to dye or print on the fabric.
We have checked into the mill to the best of our current ability and can obviously confirm that there are no instances of child or forced labour or any other contraventions of labour laws. We aim to physically audit the mill at our first possible opportunity.
