Romanian Hemp
As far as eco-friendliness goes, our Romanian hemp fabrics are far superior to Chinese hemp.They are sourced from a co-operative that combines the crops of a small group of farmers. These farmers produce their crops as naturally as possible and are currently working towards ISO certification.
Every one involved in the growing and producing of our fabrics are given above average wages for the industry in Romania and also get health and social insurance as well as pension contributions.
Our Romanian fabrics are made using traditional Romanian fabric weaving and finishing techniques and, where complimentary chemicals are use to lighten a fabric, this has been done in compliance with OEKOTEX 100.
Romanian hemp is different to Chinese hemp as it has less processing and the fibres the fabric is made from are longer then in the Chinese fabric, which make the Romanian fabrics stronger and longer lasting.
Our Romanian fabrics can also be dyed at source using compliant complimentary dyes to the colour of your choice so long as minimum order size is reached.
Romanian hemp fabrics can be safely washed at 30 degrees.
Please remember - all Romanian fabrics will shrink by approximately 5%.
