You will be asked to agree to these terms and conditions when placing your order. So, whilst we understand that it is not terribly exciting, we must ask that you read the following. If you fail to do so we can not be held responsible for any losses suffered as a result:

• All goods are shipped pre paid – by Cheque, Nochex, Paypal, Debit or Credit Card in UK £’s Sterling
• Ownership of all Hemp fabrics remains with Hemp Fabric UK until such time as all payments for the fabric have been received.
• Late charges of 1.5% per month are applied to all past due invoices.
• Returned cheques will be charged at £15.00 surcharge in addition to any bank charges incurred.
• It is possible for you to arrange with us for your own courier to collect the fabric and so avoid our delivery charge.
• For customers in the North Devon area it may be possible to arrange for you to come and collect the fabric directly from us.
• We only quote for shipment to mainland UK. We can ship to other countries but it must be pre-arranged before ordering. If you wish to ship to any country outside the UK please contact us.
  

 

Our fabrics are very special and have certain characteristics so please take note of the following points BEFORE you place your order.

• Slight weave imperfections and shade variations are characteristics of natural fibres.
• Preshrunk does not mean that the fabric will not shrink
• All knit fabrics must rest before cutting, approximate shrinkage remaining can be between 8- 10% usually along the length of the fabric so please allow for this when cutting your pattern.
• We recommend shade marking when required to ensure you get the right shade for your needs.

 

Returns

We aim to supply only the best quality products, along with a friendly and efficient service, and hope that you will have no reason to return your items, however we do allow for human error and offer the following returns policy:

If you are dissatisfied in any way with any of your order please let us know as soon as possible, and return the unwanted items within 14 days of receipt. You will be responsible for the cost of returning items to us and we ask that you obtain at least a proof of posting in case the item should go astray. Any loss in the post is not our responsibility. No refunds can be issued until the items have been received and checked. No claims will be accepted if the fabric has been altered in any way.
Refused and returned orders will be subject to a 15% restocking fee in addition to shipping fees.

Unwanted goods must be returned in "as new" (which in terms of fabrics means uncut from when we cut it to make up your order, and unwashed) re-saleable condition and a refund will be issued once we have checked and are satisfied that they are in a re-saleable condition. Actual postage costs are not included in any refunds, so the refund may not be as much as you originally paid.
 
Some hemp fabrics have imperfections. Where these are noticed prior to dispatch we will either supply extra length to compensate, or we will cut the cloth accordingly so that you are still supplied with the best quality fabric we can offer. By placing an order you accept that there may be small imperfections in the fabric and as such this does not constitute a reason for refund for defective items.

Despite holding a large quantity of fabric in stock at all times, we are not always able to process orders immediately. The guidelines shown above should be maximum times for orders to arrive if it is not in stock in the UK. Often orders will arrive much sooner.

We can arrange to get your fabrics dyed either directly with the manufacturers or with a UK dye mill, although this will add more time.

Order Quantities

Specialist weaves have a minimum of 800 meters (per fabric type) for both knitted and woven fabrics.

• Independent orders (those not placed at the same time we order) have a minimum order of 800 meters.
• If we can match your order with our own, or that of another client, then these minimum levels can be split.
• If you are interested in ordering more than 1 fabric, then providing at least one fabric is of 800 meters or more I will negotiate the other fabrics for you (sometimes these can be as little as 150 meters).
• Our Romanian suppliers may negotiate smaller minimum orders on their standard fabrics, so please get in touch about your requirements and we’ll do what we can.

 

Losses

We will not be responsible for any indirect or consequential loss that is not reasonably foreseeable to both you and us when you commenced using the website or when a contract for the sale of goods by us to you was formed. We do not limit in any way our liability by law for death or personal injury caused from our negligence or breach of duty.

Whilst we take reasonable precautions to ensure our website is free from viruses, spyware and any other similar programs, we do not accept liability for any viruses transmitted or received during the use of this website, and it is your responsibility as the user of this website to have appropriate and or adequate software to protect against any of the above.

Backorder Policy

Occasionally a fabric ordered or enquired about is not in stock. In this instance we can do one of two things

• Refund you the full order value.

 Or

• Place your order on back order, which means that when the new fabric comes in we will complete you order at that time.

Fabric on back order can take a while to come through, so with this in mind we compensate you for the delay by reducing the cost of your fabric order (back ordered fabrics only) by 5%.

In these situations we promise.

• To notify you as soon as we have any update on fabric coming in
• Cut and Dispatch as priority fabric to you within 48hrs of it arriving with us.
• In line with our Eco Policy, import all our fabrics by road or sea transportation

With is in mind please note fabrics from Romania can take up to 6 weeks and from China can take anything up to 12 weeks in extreme cases..

Prices

To keep things simple, all prices for fabric up to 10 meters include VAT.

Likewise, all prices for fabrics over 10 meters DO NOT INCLUDE VAT.

Fabric is available by the meter or by the roll depending on your requirements.

Postal Charges

Postage charges are based on weight depending on the overall weight of your order.  

Postal Strike Order Handling Policy

In the event of a postal strike we will do our best to make sure that your goods are dispatched in good time. However, you may wish to arrange for alternative delivery methods. Please contact us for more information.
